Austin homes are among the most overvalued in the United States. According to a study conducted by researchers from Florida Atlantic University and Florida International University from March this year, "homebuyers in Austin are paying nearly 51% more than expected for houses."
Travis County's median home value increased by $200,000 over 2021, up to $632,000 for 2022. That's a 53% increase in home values.
If there was ever a year to make sure you kept your property taxes under control, this is the year to do it. Search for your home's 2022 property value on the Travis CAD website.
