Harris County (Houston and environs) Appraisal Review Board and Harris County Appraisal District

Do your Harris County and Houston area property taxes keep going up? We will work to lower your property tax valuation with the Harris County Appraisal District in Houston so you can reduce your property taxes. We’ll fight for what you deserve!

We’ll do it by researching your market value and arguing for a reduced taxable value at an informal hearing before the Harris County Central Appraisal District. If you have proprietary information that would affect value – such as the property condition, for example – we’ll use that as well. If we can’t negotiate a lower taxable value there we’ll take your case to a formal hearing at the Harris County Appraisal Review Board. In recent years Harris County Appraisal District has mailed Value Notices before May 1.

This year, the Harris County Appraisal District began mailing Value Notices on March 31st. The initial deadline for filing protests on these noticed values is April 30th. However, if you miss the April 30th deadline, we have been told that your protest deadline will be automatically extended to June 2nd. As we have not yet seen this in print, we highly recommend filing prior to the April 30th deadline.

For Value Notices mailed by the Appraisal District on any other date, your deadline will be thirty days after the notice was mailed.

Please act in a timely fashion. This will provide us more time to prepare the best case possible to have your value reduced.
